Launch of Little Maven for JC Penney

Tori was speaking at the launch of her new clothing line, Little Maven, for JC Penney, where she was joined by Stella, Hattie, Liam and husband Dean. She has revealed dramatic new details of the moment her four-year-old daughter saved her life when she fell ill during her recent pregnancy.

A month after welcoming son Finn Davey, the mother of four explained that Stella came to her aid when she 'nearly died' after suffering the life threatening condition placenta previa. Tori told People magazine that she was in bed with just her daughter when she woke to find herself in a 'massive' pool of blood.

'I stumbled to the bathroom, dizzy from losing so much blood. When I got there, I thought, "This is it."
'There was so much blood I thought, "I’m dying. Not just [losing] the baby, but I’m dying."'

'I’ll never forget the look on her face when she saw me surrounded by blood everywhere. I didn’t want to panic her and I said, "Baby, will you go get Daddy? Just tell him I’m bleeding." Her eyes were as big as saucers and - this is going to make me cry - she looked like such a little toddler warrior. She said, "Okay, Mama" she ran and two seconds later Dean came in and basically had to wrap me up to get me to the hospital.'

Thankfully all ended well and both, Tori and baby, enjoy now the company of their beautiful family.

Happy 1st Birthday Hattie Cat!

Name: Hattie Margaret McDermott

Date of Birth: October 10, 2011

Parents: Tori Spelling & Dean McDermott

Siblings: Jack, 14, Liam, 5, Stella, 4, & Finn, 5 weeks

Facts:

♥ Hattie was born in Los Angeles, Calif.

♥ Unlike her big brother and sister, Hattie’s parents chose to keep her gender a surprise but were fairly confident she would be a boy. As a result, they didn’t have a name picked out for her once she was born

♥ She weighed 6 lbs & 14 oz and measured 20 inches long at birth

♥ Hattie’s middle name Margaret was chosen to honor Tori’s childhood nanny

♥ Her first word was “DADA”

♥ Liam and Stella nicknamed her Hattie Cat

Quotes:

“For Hattie we decided to not find out the baby’s sex since we already were blessed with one of each. That’s a whole other story that I’ll save for my next memoir, but we were convinced that the baby would be a boy! There was a boy name we both have loved for years and decided on that. We didn’t even think of girl names. Well, you know how that turned out! We had a beautiful, no-name baby girl. In recovery afterwards, with her in my arms, I asked Dean to start Googling old-fashioned girl names. He started at ‘A’ and read through the alphabet, both of us shaking our heads the whole time. When he read the name Hattie aloud and we both looked at each other and said, “That’s it!” I looked down at her and she was such a Hattie. So we named her Hattie Margaret. Margaret, after my nanny who was like a second mother to me and had passed.” – Tori on naming her third child.

“10 things about Hattie…

1. Has the most perfectly round head

2. Looks like the perfect blend of Liam and Stella

3. When she sleeps she makes the cutest purring sounds

4. She’s ravenous! Always hungry

5. So alert for a newborn. Eyes follow every sound she hears

6. Already holding her neck up. Very strong lady!

7. Loves kisses from her big bro and sis, which they give her all day long

8. Already rules the roost

9. Super pooper!

10. Was made out of pure love!” – Tori on her then 1-month-old baby girl.

Stella's Style at ediTORIal

Tori wrote in her website:

Well, someone certainly knows how to strike a pose! Hands perfectly placed on the hips, arms at the perfect angle…So much attitude and sass, and she’s not even facing the camera.

I love this outfit because it’s boho meets classic with a sassy twist. Stella opted for the ankle booties with the crocheted dress instead of the more traditional sandal or flip-flop. What an L.A. girl! Also, can we talk about the hair? The ponytail tied up with a ribbon adds the perfect amount of girliness, and if you look at her face in the mirror, it actually looks like quite the elegant updo!

I must admit, this is a super chic outfit for anyone, no matter the age. It might be time for me to create a grown-up version of this outfit…

Love,
T
